Running Roundup #12

Running Roundup

O glorious Friday! We thought you’d never come. Here’s some links to get you through to hometime….

  • Writing or Running? An Inspirational Quote Quiz – The Hairpin
“Tomorrow may be hell, but today was a good _____ing day, and on the good _____ing days nothing else matters.” Fill in the blanks!
  • 17 reasons to walk more this year – Marks Daily Apple
Plain ol’ walking is so underrated as an activity for both body and spirit. Some great reasons to head out for a toddle here!
  • Zucchini Spaghetti Noodles – Nom Nom Paleo
I don’t follow the Paleo diet per se but I feel better when I don’t have a Bed of Carbs beneath every meal. Thus I am lately obsessed with julienned zucchini as a rice or pasta substitute. I don’t bother with all the salting and water removing in this recipe, I just attack a zucchini (courgette) with my trusty julienne peeler and eat it raw or zap it quickly in the microwave. Quicker and less mess than pasta/rice cooking, too.
  • The Art of Presence – David Brook @ New York Times
A lovely piece about how to help people who are suffering or grieving with thoughtful tips, including: “Do bring soup. The non-verbal expressions of love are as healing as eloquence.” (via Cup of Jo)
  • How bad do you want it? – Roni’s Weigh
I enjoyed Roni’s thoughts on that highly irriating phrase. “It’s NOT a matter of wanting it bad enough. It’s a matter of evaluating our priorities and making guilt-free decisions.”
