Running Roundup #5

Running RoundupIn Running Roundup we share links about running – or not about running at all – that have warmed our cockles. If you’ve spied a story or have one of your own to share, give us a shout!

  • Two In Six – Pancakes & French Fries
Jules’ experiences in mindful eating brought a big lump to my throat… “I tried to put into words what those two pounds meant to me, someone who has been on a diet of one kind or another since she was nine years old… To know I had fried zucchini and ice cream and vegetables and protein and carbohydrates and grains and enough water to float a ship just the way I wanted it and the world didn’t end”. • The Benefits of Exercising Outdoors – New York Times
When Coach Julia encourages you to abandon the treadmill for the great outdoors, she’s really thinking of your wellbeing 😉
  • Austin Marathon – Third Time’s A Charm – Krisalis
10K Course veterans will remember Kristen, one of our awesome Runners of the Week. She just rocked the Austin Marathon with a fab PR. Really enjoyed her race report – lots of details and stats and what she was thinking as the miles went on. I love nitty gritty details in a race report. Congratulations Kristen!
  • Winter vegetable curry – Chocolate & Zucchini
I’m busting to try out Clotidle’s latest curry creation. The bright colours and spices will provide a nice contrast to our grotty grey skies! I might chunk in a tin of chickpeas to stretch it out a bit. Can’t wait for her new book in July!
  1. Gill Bland
Great articles. I also really like http://www.veggierunners.com/ for recipes. I'm not veggie but they always sound good.
  2. Shauna
That site looks great, cheers Gill!
